Is it my imagination or is the DLC significantly harder than the base game? I'm having trouble fighting my way through even the trash mobs at the very beginning of the DLC, when attack/roll away seemed to work fine in the base game.
Perhaps I'm just out of practice? In that case, do I get penalized at all if I drop the difficultly and raise back up again later?

The DLC drops the strongest armor parts in the game it gets significantly more bearable once you find and equip them. The difficulty is all frontloaded because of this.

Do I get penalized if I drop the difficulty first? Does difficulty change anything besides regular monsters doing absurd amounts of damage and soaking up absurd amounts of damage, and attacking without pause?
