Its very clear you're too young to have experienced arcades.
They were a shithole back in the day, infested with heaps of subhumans spending unending hours there, bullying people, and being a nuisance.
I dont even want to think what they'd be like nowadays given the amount of subhumans has multiplied.

Sorry Ranjeet, but it's not because most people don't want to go out to play video games, they'd rather stay at home and play them there

With games becoming more and more expensive, it's a possibility.

I still have a local arcade that's pretty good. They have some Japanese shit as well. The main issue is that sometimes niggers come and vandalize the bathroom and on occasion even a machine by putting their stupid ape scribble on them. I fucking hate niggers so much, and negrified Mexicans as well. Other than that, it's a pretty chill place to go. Occasionally still pop in and play for a couple of hours when I get the chance. Arcades are just genuinely magical and I'm glad people are still trying to keep them alive.

Japanese autists are a different breed.
I was an English teacher over there for a few months and there were a bunch of autistic kids at my schools.

One girl was completely unaware of any social bullshit and would go up to my laptop and fuck around with the keys when I was giving a presentation. After about 3 instances of this the students (4th graders) would just grab her and take her back to her seat.

Shit was hillarious.

idk about that entirely because I just went to one of those arcades where you pay an up front fee and all the machines are on free play and there were plenty of families and zoomers there.
Maybe not in the exact same way as before but definitely still possible. Although most of them are subjected to the really shit ones that pull the same shit Japan does to skirt around gambling laws so that kids use a card and play some time-based nerf shooting gallery, mobile games and other shit to farm tickets or straight up gamble quarters on coin pushers.

Haven't been to a Dave & Busters in ages. But the last time I went there was a Fruit Ninja touchscreen game along with what appeared to be a MAME cabinet hooked up to a huge screen. I remember really wanting to visit Round 1 when it was one of the only places that had Initial D arcade cabinets.

I worked in an arcade for a year in 2008 (until close) and I loved it mostly. Loved the games. Loved the "hardcore communities" around Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Maximum Tune. Loved the kids (no pedo).

Parents were always a nightmare though. Like if its so shit stop coming here. I didn't make your kid dump his entire evening in Smokin Token. Yes you could get 50x more plastic dinos from China for 25% the price what are we doing here this isn't an original thought.

Depends on the area you live in. There's a bunch of tech youtubers that run arcades in the US.
8-bit guy's brother runs the Time Rift Arcade in Texas. John from John's Arcade isn't making youtube videos anymore, but he's still loaning his cabinets to an arcade in Portland (I think?).
There's a bunch of other guys that I don't remember right now.. They do however know their shit and have some of the best / rarest cabinets out there.

That's pretty much normal for retro arcades nowadays. Lots of cabinets were produced on the cheap and are pushing 30-40 years of service or sitting in some storage area. Shit breaks down all the fucking time.

I was already surprised their Time Crisis 2 machine still had functional force feedback slides on -both- guns.
They had a lot of cabinets with non-generic hardware (pic related), so getting spare parts will probably be a pain in the ass.

A place I lived had about 20 pinball machines and about the same amount of arcade cabinets. Problem was, all of the cabinets were in complete disrepair because of drunk idiots smashing the sticks and buttons, and none of the college kids the place hired knew how to fix it. A shame because for the first year it was a good arcade but after a while it was just a place for university kids to go get drunk and play pinball for an hour.

From the repair videos people are posting it's mostly leaking capacitors, faulty power supplies, or old CRTs giving out.
CRTs are the biggest problem, because they will eventually become too dim or suffer from extreme burn in, and they're not making any new ones.

Round 1 near me just in the last two weeks appears to have rearranged everything and 40% of the machines don't work and 85% of the crane games were empty (and since it is NJ the only game type they are allowed is the actual pick up crane, nothing like the ping pong drop, rings, or platform / rods).
They got rid of the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5DX+ cabs apparently so now it is just Initial D Arcade Stage 5 I think (and one was down and the rest weren't even taking swipes)

Arcades still exist and people still go to them, but they are just very unpopular now, and I doubt an arcade is ever going to have a comeback after the home entertainment systems were invented, these consoles were specifically invented to replace the arcade, that's literally why consoles exist, the concept is that now you can buy an entire game for a single price and then you get to keep the game forever and you no longer need to pay a quarter to play a game once and then pay another quarter to respawn every time you die, lol.
