It's good. I played it on 360 in 06 and it was great. Tried it on PC recently and it does feel old. Not sure if there's unofficial patches/mods that make it feel better to play two decades on.

It's really, really good. This game made me realize what a proper single player FPS should be. I played this and the second game for the first time last year and I couldn't believe it but it actually made me want to keep playing until I beat it, same with the second game.
I think the second is arguably better but not by much and there's one or two things I liked more about the first but they're both masterpieces.

It really comes down to the level of detail and shows just how far modern games have fallen. They didn't repeat shit in the props of these games. I'll never forget walking into the casino off the strip (2nd game I think) and seeing a bunch of cards scattered on the ground. I had to zoom in with my scope to get a proper view and found that they were, like, business cards for strippers and had a bimbo and a phone number or some way to contact them on each card.
I'm not fucking joking when I say there was literally 15+ unique bimbos on the cards. I don't think I ever saw a duplicate, it was just unique sexy woman after unique sexy woman on every card.

Can you imagine such detail today? I remember making to a terminal where people were attacked with luggage. I think it was a subway or something like that. Every piece of luggage was unique. If there was an open luggage (which a lot were) then it had unique items in it scattered about spreading across the floor where they were fallen. Not one suitcase was copy pasted.

And when you think about it, these devs are being paid to make these games so it shouldn't be that hard to take your paycheck and actually produce a bunch of unique models and props but apparently that's a technique that's been completely forgotten.

Play these games OP. Play on the "Hard" mode for maximum fun. Not very hard, just hard

Vegas 2 was better but the first game is good. I wish Ubisoft wasn't a shit company because I'd love to see them rerelease the Vegas games just so I could play the multiplayer again.

Yeah this would have been pretty good. Close enough to the Vegas games and old Ubisoft to still carry on the spirit of the franchise. Werenโ€™t they worried about backlash or some gay shit because your character would basically be a rogue agent violating the constitution and killing innocents to get the mission done? It was just an excuse to make Siege and go the way of pure multiplayer slop

Linear Gears of War clone with "press up to clear room" mechanics. It was extremely casual and hated here at the time of its release.

The ai wasnt that good, it was mostly pre prorammed moments, its why enemies just spawn when you are in the room before, and sometimes it can bug out and spawn someone behind you since the maps flow freely.
After a lot of playtime you could predict from a handful of setpieces in terrorist hunt.
Its still very well designed at that, it made a lot of fun moments, but I did end up enjoying the AI in Siege more, at least at the start when you could still play against all enemy types. You could tell all the AI spawned in at the start and whetever flanking they did it was well earned trying to follow your noise, not just an algorithm that spawned in a bunch of enemies from behind out of nowhere.
And overall I think the AI in Day of Infamy is the best I have seen (also very dependent of very well refined setpieces, but more subtle than Vegas)

Also while talking about AI, i never enjoyed much of the AI in Raven Shield, at most they would see you, crouch and shoot in an incredibly stiff way, then just sprint somewhere once and never move again. And that was at their most dynamic.

I can already tell you haven't played Vegas. All terrorist are on the map at spawn and have marginally random starting paths on hard but preset paths on normal, terrorist communicate and change their movement based on noises and communication with each other. This is known because of the debug files. There is no "spawning in terrorist" in Vegas 1 outside of incredibly small maps such as killhouse.

There arguably hasn't been a real R6 game since 3.
>ywn get Patriots
>ywn get a real tactical shooter with planning stages and briefings ever again
It was truly over back when every tactical shooter enjoyer simped for Takedown: Red Sabre, got the funding campaign to succeed for it, and it released as a wet fart nobody ever played or cared about. What is there now? Ready or Not, where you can complete levels just fine by being an incompetent streamer more focused on being silly with your coop friends for money and engagement with the only "penalty" being a lower score?

There aren't enough small maps to say they just spawn in, and on those small maps they only spawn in if you change the default amount of terrorist. So yeah they literally dont even on those maps unless you set them to.
