500 sp is nothing and most of your well books are spend on giving yor guys canter.
Chloe can pretty much be mercrius up till she joined and is probaly stronger then lapis by then.
Also fast melee unit suck in engage as the game is 70 percent mages and 30 percent dancer and alear support.
The only good physical units are the ones who utilize crits well.
Besides that kagetsu is gonna bet both of them with his absurd bases and doesnt really need canter to keep himself say since he is strong enough for a few enemies to attack him.

She is only viable as a avoid tank. One of the better ones in the game at that. She absolutely shreds with this build. I kept her next to fogado so she gets even more avoid, or framme so she can get a chain guard. Once you give up on the ability to get crits with her and fully embrace the avoidmaxxing life, shes pretty good. If you run roy or marth, keep the s rank smash weapon around.

Not in the case of avoid tanking. While griffins have a superior mag dex stat and the ability to fly. The two classes stats are similar. In this case since im avoidmaxxing griffon is inferior to myrmidon since fliers cannot use terrain bonuses. If i set lapis in a terrain on say ch 24 is a good example. You can stop whole flanks because of the fog which gives 30 avoid, putting her based on the image at a 145 avoid flat +15 for a sword and another +10 for having a unit next to her. Meaning the majority of units will not attack her or if theres no one around; have a sub %20 hit rate.
Learn to play the game and actually utilize classes and their roles instead of meta slaving you gargantuan faggot.

Avoidmaxxing is just not that great in Engage past the earlygame. Even less so on a unit with no 1-2 range. You need to deal with the constant annoyance of checking hit rates to make sure you don't cross the threshold of getting ignored, and you can't even counter attack half of the enemies who do still decide to attack.

Meh, canter is good but it's not really the be-all and end-all, just be a little more smarter on your positioning and utilize chain guards/bonded shields. You'll do just fine inheriting the Weapon Power skills.

No, I'm just making a point that Kagetsu and Merrin are really good melee units off the bat. I don't think Lapis sucks but she does just take a little work.

I think the problem is you left her as a wolf knight then. I made her into a sword wyvern knight with emblem eirika and sword power and she absolutely destroyed everything. And nobody's one-rounding swordmasters without using speedtaker, those guys can have up to 40spd by endgame.

Not really, tomes are insanely expensive to forge and the maximum value you get out of it is +5 mt. Levin sword mage knights is probably the best and cheapest thing but then it's about the same cost of inheriting a weapon power and forging a steel weapon on a melee unit.

You can forge javelins and hand axes. Admittedly they probably won't kill unless the target is a squishy mage.
