Doesn't Pauline being a kid negate all of his claims of being the DK from the original arcade game?

Cranky kidnapped Pauline's mom, Lady.

Everyone always concentrates on Cranky mentioning he's "the original Donkey Kong", but always overlook that he does so in the context of talking about it in a meta sense with full knowledge that he's a video-game character. I don't think that bit of lore was meant to be taken seriously, yet everybody does. Pauline being a kid doesn't change anything.

Cranky being the original DK only worked in the context of Rare's DKC titles as a meta joke. It caused too many character/continuity issues the moment Nintendo combined the DK and Mario universes after Rare left.

Nintendo has never really acknowledged Cranky as "DK Sr", it has always been 3rd parties such as Namco Bandai's Smash Ultimate or Prima's game guides that bring it up. The Mario movie outright retcons the idea.

There is no continuous or consistent lore in the Mario games. All of the characters are just actors that Nintendo uses to fill whatever role they want them to in any given game. Stop trying to take this shit so seriously.

Void Co. was hired by K. Rool to go back in time and Void out DK and Pauline ever meeting, therefore doing time fuckery and taking DK's strength Power's away. This is why Pauline was Voided out to begin with. She was kidnapped and taken to the future, where Void Co came from. The true voiding hasn't taken place yet, and they need the wish from the center of the earth to fulfill it.
