You're playing the wrong racing game then. I too love to smash vehicles up, but I don't play typical racing games to do it lmao

Man, it's such a huge fucking movie franchise. Vin Diesel seems to be interested in making video games with the whole Chronicles of Riddick thing. Don't know why he never went all in on Fast and the Furious video games.

I don't mind racing games as a genre, but what's the point of just trying to remake Nascar or some other IRL racing event over and over and over again?
It's not even like it's a flight sim where you can dogfight and blow things up.
You can do so much more fun and interesting things in a game.

Anyone have any opinions on Flatout? Recently got added to my list of games to try at some point. Think I'll play Fuel first though to see how massive the map is on that game.

I used to play a Gamecube Nascar game exclusively to turn off the flags and drive the wrong way around the track to crash into whoever is first and create a massive pile up. Not worth buying a whole game over but piracy or if you just so happen to have one on hand it was stupid fun to do. Issue is the tech gotten better but real life car companies don't really want to see how many pieces of the car can fly off. Reason why Burnout could never use real cars. So when you wreck in such games nowadays the bare min damage is often ever shown.

You wouldn't get it.
Flight sims are about spending hours cruising between airports, not dogfighting by the way

I've only played Ultimate Carnage but it's one of the better wrecking racing games I've played. I've heard 3 and 4 are abominations
Anonymous No.713033001
>>713032248
The first one? It's pretty neat but feels like it has a conflicting design. On one hand it wants to be a destruction derby game where you crash into things for fun, and on the other hand it wants to be a simcade where you get punished for touching anything and you should drive as cleanly as possible to keep your car in good shape. Some of the last races are outright painful due to how careful you have to be, just taking some jumps wrong will ruin your suspension and ruin your chances at winning the race.
Flatout 2 and Ultimate Carnage are nothing like that however, they're much more arcade-y.

tons of fun
Ultimate carnage is the definitive edition (more AI opponents, more cars, more races) so get that one
After you're done with flatout UC, play wreckfest as it's made by the same devs

NFS High Stakes
PSX version is better iirc
Anonymous No.713034432
>>713032248
The first one has more of a folk race atmosphere and the driving feeling is less refined than 2
The second one is an improvement almost all around
UC is a remaster of 2, personally I still prefer 2 over UC
There are no other games besides these 3 in the series

Need For Speed High Stakes, PC version.
It has the best "play as a cop" mode of all racing games I know of, you can control the whole squad, call assistance, spike strips and roadblocks and jump into any other cop car on the map.

>>713034005
The PSX version has its advantages like better physics, but hot pursuit mode as a cop is much more primitive, it's nothing like playing as a whole squad of cops like it is on PC.

Thanks. They are the same game, dingus. Bought it back in the day but stopped playing. Maybe after couple of years it has tons of new stuff I haven't seen.
Might reinstall but really hate to use that piece of shit console though.
They should have released a PC version!

last time I checked people were still drifting on Suzuka section and running that shitty fuckass highway track with the straightaway and jap players were still running deep on tsukuba, also Eiger Nordwind was getting play but the inferior reverse version where you have to race uphill still a good togue track, freaks people out when you pull out a mid-torque fiat 500 and trash lambos on the corners there.
