So the closed off disc is something finite you own, the SSD open for rewritting is merely a databox where you only own the databox itself over the games you store in there at will, and that's assuming those games aren't the licenses only.

Its like if every single tractor controlled completely differently and worked off completely different, incompatible mechanisms, people would gravitate towards the first one they used and only ones most similar to it.
