I don't even think the humor was the issue it was how tone deaf 3 was throughout the entire game. 2 stopped joking around when Ronald died but 3 never took it self seriously even it should've. Same with Tales, it stops joking around in serious moments.

I know we throw around soul vs soulless but holy shit. I've been replaying 2 and this has no atmosphere. BL2 writing was annoying but everyone identified it as BL2 writing. now it's just normal onions banter stuff that's in everything.

the menu UI feels like i'm reserving a 4 start chain hotel in colorado. it is completely unrelated to any other elements. the lighting is flat and boring. BL2 had tons of color and atmosphere in the lighting.
