The Ventus is truly a mistake. They should change this tier to have a no-nonsense amateur-server-room design instead to save even more money. Just an undecorated matte rectangle. Consumers can still buy them but they shouldn't need to pay for more than what is necessary. The Ventus (and Shadow) brand should be brought out of the mud by making it less shitty so that at least its nice housing isn't hiding the inadequate hardware.

I actually look at the cooling performance first, then price. If you prioritize budget over all else that will just set you up to be unhappy for the next few years, possibly encouraging you to replace your card well before its expiry date. Reviews does half of that work, the other half has to be done by guesstimating how good it will be from a card's physical size relative to others (assuming not going SFF). Most AIBs now produce decent coolers even in the affordable entry product brackets but there are still some stinkers to watch out for. Once the cooling cut off point is decided on, only then look at pricetags.

I had an RTX 3090, but recently switched to an RX 7900 XTX for an overall better Linux experience.
That 3090 had problems though, under Windows it would often cause a BSOD with the error code: DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION (what does this even mean?) and under Linux one of my monitors would just randomly freeze. Never figured out what was wrong with it.

I was quite unsure at the time since I could either go for the MSI one, which was a Ventus iirc, and a Zotac trinity at the same price. I decided by flipping a coin and if it was heads, I would go for the former, and if tails, for the latter. I have kept my 4070TIS Trinity for a year and a half and I don't have that many complaints, except that the rgb software included is quite buggy at times, so I have kept it disabled. I wish EVGA was still around when I made my purchase however, I would have bought their model in a heartbeat.
