I have well over a thousand hours in an obscure autism racing game as well as hundreds in various MMOs with tons of bright static hud elements. I run at 20-40% brightness in SDR and let it run the compensation cycles when I go AFK or turn off my PC. Sometimes once a day, sometimes a few. I have zero burn in. You just stop worrying about it especially when your monitor comes with a 3 year burn in warranty. Worst case scenario I'll get a replacement in a few years then replace the replacement a few years after that, by which point OLEDs will be dirt cheap and probably much more resilient.

I don't even need VRR on my OLED. I know this probably sounds like cope but there isn't any tearing (that I can notice) at 360hz.
My old 240hz TN panel absolutely required g-sync or else the tearing was unbearable. Not so with my OLED.

Because fortunately my eyes do not register the glow as much as a camera does so the effect isn't as severe as this bait tries to imply. That, and my monitor has worked flawlessly for 12+ years, i won't get another one until this one bites the dust, and even then it probably won't be an oled because i don't want to deal with the burn.

I feel like OLED and mini-led really shine on hdr content and there is barely any on PC. Yeah its not just deep blacks you want, the contrast is the selling point of OLED and Ori is great for that. Returnal on console had great HDR, PC not sure. The worst part of PC HDR is its varying levels of implementation, and how it interacts with Windows
>turn on HDR on windows
>launch a Resident Evil game
>washed out colors with HDR on in-game
>turn it off, in game somehow looks better
Games like RE and the new Dead Space remake require me to use the keyboard shortcut win+alt+b to turn on HDR after launching game.

When I got a OnePlus 7 Pro (90Hz phone), I could not tell the difference in every day use.
Having a low (60Hz) and high (120Hz+) refresh rate monitor side-by-side, you can definitely tell the difference.
What sealed the deal for me (no bias) was when I was playing a game one day, and it felt choppy. I was like wtf is wrong with my PC now. Restart it, still feels the same. Few hours later, it occurs to me to check my refresh rate. It dropped back down to 60Hz from 360Hz. It was 100% noticeable to the point I thought my PC was running like shit.

you have to get to 360+ to notice it beyond 144. richfag friend of mine upgraded from a 280 to a 500 screen and only then did i notice the difference between my 165 and his 500

You need an OLED display running at 560 Hz to see any kind of clarity or alternatively you run an LCD with backlight strobing.

Literally how. Unless you have a 60hz monitor and a god tier PC that always locks 60 fps, it should be very obvious on vs off. Any time the camera pans with the framerate below refresh rate it will stutter and judder without variable refresh. The difference is so obvious that I almost returned a monitor that said it has gsync compatibility support but it wasn't working. Eventually fixed it by changing to HDMI cable and resetting drivers. Maybe that's why you didn't notice it, your shit was bugged. Use Nvidia profile inspector to enable all the gsync overlays and it'll show you if it's working or not. In my case even though the driver control panel showed it enabled, the overlay proved it wasn't and my eyes were correct.

my new phone has an OLED screen but it doesn't seem to be that different, to be honest. I mean, if you have one that's all good, but it doesn't seem worth it to go out of your way to buy it if you can get something cheaper.

listen retard, i have a 4k oled monitor and it looks good but not world changing. You dont see the screen the way your phone sees it. Especially because nearly always the ips has fucked up settings so the oled compared looks better. It almost feels like the people are doing this to convince themselves that this was a good buy. No joke, I have a 4k lcd tv from 2016. With light coming in the blacks are almost NOT different.
>>713055498
kek this
>WOOOOOOOWW blacks on that oled screen look sooooo much better on my ips/lcd than the blacks of the lcd/ips lmao
The funniest shit is that the images are EVERY single time the same:
1. the room is completely dark
2. The image is nearly completely black
3. The settings on one monitor is fucked with so the diffference is greater
IRL you will not see that much of a difference ALSO tell people about pixel cleaning and burn in danger.
It almost feels like people have buyers regret and try to convince themselves by getting other people to praise it lmao

Being a poorfag is really actually not being able to have both options available. OLED has plenty of weaknesses when it comes to peak brightness/higher nits. But i use an OLED monitor simultaneously with this one whenever i notice that an OLED is not doing a specific scene justice.

OLED can't mature. The decay is built into the technology, if you turn the display on it will start killing itself which is why people always recommend gimping the brightness to slow down the process.
