If you have a smart TV like mine (some kind of Roku TV) you don't even have to do that much. Just press the Netflix button on the remote.

Netflix leaked their involvement in making a live-action Zelda series, and Nintendo felt betrayed and dishonored.

They maybe also didn't want a repeat of the Wii situation where a lot of people ended up using their Wiis as dedicated Netflix boxes, rather than gaming consoles. With the advent of smart tvs and smart phones since then, that does seem like a farfetched worry.

Nintendo caters to their demographic that are locked into their ecosystem of Nintendo Exclusives, collecting plastic statues that serve to provide DLC content in games, Nintendo Online with Expansion Pack to play legacy titles etc.
