CoD1, MW1, MW2, WaW, Blops 1, Blops 2, Blops Cold War AW and IW all have great campaigns, Blops 3 has an excellent story but the whole game is designed for 4 player coop so the encounter design is shit and very repetitive.

CoD2 gets a lot of praise but it feels very short and over-reliant on combat arenas that the AI doesn't play well with to me.

I actually liked the BLOP2 campaign. it had so many paths and I enjoyed the XCOM-like missions where you control an entire deployment of NPCs. If you fail, which is crazy on Veteran since you get oneshot, it actually changes the story.

I genuinely loved 2019's campaign, felt like a return to the good old days when COD was edgy just for the lulz and ended up producing really memorable moments.
The sequels ruined that though, more PG friendly stories and gameplay-wise they ruined the missions by introducing Warzone shenannigans like armored enemies that become bullet sponges.
Honestly whomever thought this direction was a good idea must be braindead.
