How else could you do it really? Aside from some Natlan swap in stuff, characters have two abilities.
If you made a skill where you NEED to stay on field and use normals to build up some stack, people would complain that it's wasting time and prolonging rotations and instead use supports that are snappier. If you have supports some insane damage multiplier for the first few normals in a string to make it a DPS increase to weave a few in before swapping, you'd just animation cancel.

I'm actually glad to see genshin move away from the pre-made body models, there's 5 in total and they just tweak proportions to fit the character like with how slim Furina's legs are or how wide Varesa is to other females that use their body model. This robomaid uses a similar shape but having segments cut out to make her body actually look mechanical is really nice, it's a shame it took them this long to start doing this

In Natlan, in order to use that sort of tech, you basically need to use existing Secret Source tech, meaning you have to search old dragon ruins. Remember that most of this tech was destroyed by Och-kan, meaning what the current characters are using are just the few dregs that he missed. In theory, Mondstadt could do the same by scavenging shit from Stormterror's Lair, but I'm guessing there aren't any engineers there skilled enough to accomplish that. Maybe Albedo could, but he's an alchemist, not an engineer.

You see elements of this in Sumeru as well. A lot of Erumites use weapons created by adapting tech scattered here and there in the desert from Deshret's time. Kaveh's briefcase was made in this manner.

Fontaine stands out because they're the only nation who actually invents (or perhaps reinvents) tech without relying on recycling stuff from a previous civilization. The clockwork mekas were created by the Fontaine Research Institute from scratch. Everyone else just reuses tech left behind by gods and dragons.

Relatively low, but they appear to be at the forefront of alchemy. Compared to other nations, they don't seem to have any capable engineers who can adapt technology from previous civilizations. Diluc and Jean have some familiarity with Decarabian's tech, but none of it is utilized in any meaningful way by the populace.
>Liyue: C
Nearly all of the most advanced tech from the closest previous civilization (i.e., the Guili Assembly) was wiped out in the Archon War. Now, only a few pieces of tech left behind by the Adepti remain. The Liyue Qixing have managed to reverse engineer a few of Cloud Retainer and Guizhong's tech, but the number of individuals with enough knowledge of both Adepti arts and engineering appear to be relatively low.

Similar state as Mondstadt. It's just that Inazuma is the only nation with a god who still likes to tinker with tech. The only reason Inazuma has a higher tech level than Mondstadt is exclusively due to Ei.
>Sumeru: C+
The Akademiya seems to house a number of advanced tech that isn't readily available to the general populace. Some scholars and Eremites are known to scavenge tech invented and left behind by Deshret and adapt them for their own purposes. Much of Sumeru's tech is highly limited; as more and more people scavenge and reuse Deshret's tech, the less will be left for others to utilize. Eventually, Sumeru is gonna have to create its own new tech, otherwise they advancement will come to a standstill.

The only nation the continuously makes technological advancements independent of pre-existing tech. Unlike Sumeru and Natlan, Fontaine doesn't need to recycle ancient relics. All of Fontaine's tech was invented by the Fontaine Research Institute. Their technology seems comparable to Fontaine's, if not greater, and they don't appear to be limited to their nation's borders either. Katheryne is a robot, yet she's capable of functioning despite not physically existing in Snezhnaya, making her far more advanced than any Clockwork Meka. Not to mention she's indistinguishable from a human.

Fontaine and Snezhnaya are till the kings. Natlan can't do anything if there isn't an existing Secret Source mechanism lying around. Xilonen has invented absolutely none of the tech any of the main characters use. All she did was adapt stuff the dragons created and left behind.

I think a lot of people are just kind of unhappy that the sci-fi elements which were originally just background elements of the game are coming more and more into the forefront. This is no longer Mondstadt, where the only sci-fi are Ruin Guards or leftover mechanisms in Stormterror's Lair or Dragonspine. No, the sci-if is actually something we have to deal with both as player characters and as story elements.

And I think for a lot of people, this kind of takes them by surprise because previously, the sci-fi elements were pretty toned down. We got used to the Ruin Guards, they were just enemies we killed. Khaenri'ah dead, Deshret is dead. But now, things aren't like that anymore, and I think that puts some people off because they probably greatly preferred how things were back in Mondstadt and Liyue.

That said, I wonder if there were anyone who actually sort of knew this stuff was coming from the outset. Like they preferred how things were at the beginning, but they also understood that, yeah, robots exist in this universe. Advanced sci-fi tech is a thing here. And maybe these people, keenly aware of the inevitably of the situation, were just quietly dreading it.

For me, immersion was completely broken when Mizuki was released. Her story explicitly mentions and makes it an important point that "her business stocks were in shambles". Did feudal Japan have a stock market? Were businesses public in the same was as it is in the capitalist West? I found this detail bizarre and completely ruined my immersion for Inazuma. I could accept them having boba drinks and light novels, but a fucking stock market? Do correct me if they did indeed base old shogunates' economy on stocks, but damn.

I think it more as Inazuma still being rather secluded from the rest of Teyvat, even though it's been years since its story ended and blah blah blah. If an event popped up now telling us "oh look Xilonen isn't getting a lot of commissions lately and her business stock's value is plummeting!" I would have the exact same impression. Diluc was a launch character and still has the mechanical depth every character should TRY to have. Ultimately kits are going to be simple because the game has to be playable on mobile devices, but 90% of the characters are just E/Q bots.

ZZZ for example used to have stunner as the one that hogs field time but now those role got downgraded completely because people want DPS to take field time more often.

For ZZZ, who I roll for entirely depends on who has charged attacks or not. Ellen, Qingyi, and Miyabi are great examples of this as they have what feels like a full kit, but if you compare someone like Hugo to them then he just feels like ass. By extension, Skirk feels like shit to play because tapping M1 to attack in Genshin isn't fun. Someone like Kinich may be similar but at least it feels engaging as a main DPS.
