It's not that they wanted to save money on Kiefer, he was there the whole time. He just refused to read his lines but you can hear his breathing if you pay attention.
He still charged them for the time, however. Kojima decided to leave the session in as an artistic choice.

and to be fair, PW is kind of a part of MGSV and was originally intended to be MGS5. MGSV requires so much context provided by peace walker, the only other game that comes close to requiring that much context from other games to understand is MGS4, and even it isn't as bad (especially considering the fact that they have big expository lore dumps constantly in MGS4).

Honestly, the way gamers hyped this game up made me realise that they like sloppy shitty writing and have never actually seen or heard of good writing. It’s why FOTM shit gets hyped up for a month before they move on to the next FOTM shit.

I have, still do annually. It's actually my favorite game in the series. Solidus is best Snake. Don't care much for the Big Boss trilogy, but some subplots/side characters are fun, like Huey and Kaz.

Nah, the only thing "left" was going after Liquid and Mantis to that island. The reality was not having a FOXHOUND/Dead Cell/Cobra equivalent means you lose alot of the wacky cast and fun boss fights the series was built on. Even MGS4 has the girl squad even if people mostly remember the secret sexy scenes more than the actual fights.

That combined with Kiefer not really talking as much as Hayter, and most of his speech is really in the cassettes, its just not an MGS experience even if he finished.

bit of my post. But between Venom being a cardboard cutout and the actual climax of the game being completely missing from the game, I'm hard pressed to think of any game that has hyped me up so much just to completely flub it.
