My suspicion is that Bananza's Pauline isn't actually Pauline. It'll be like Shrek; she's not Pauline cursed to transform into a rock creature, she's a rock creature who used the wish-granting plot device to transform into Pauline. Bored Disney Princess dreaming of escaping her dull subterranean life to the surface, her one greatest treasure is an old Pauline concert poster or single from her very first performance that fell far underground then she runs into the wish macguffin and says "I wanna be just like this girl and be a great singer on the surface!".
Would also make her even more like Vanellope, where they're both not quite who they seem to be.
