Mario should have remained and married Pauline, instead of ditching her for a worthless princess who does nothing but get captured repeatedly (who even refused his advances).
Pauline put on an expensive and elaborate concert for Mario to try to get back with him, yet he ditched her for a goddamned princess who doesn't care about him other than protection (and yet, he doesn't understand that a PRINCESS would never date or marry a PLUMBER).
At least Luigi and Daisy have an excuse that the latter is a foreigner.
