Fuck no. Godzilla is written to be the Saitama of kaiju. There’s literally a rule from Toho stating that he cannot be killed, only driven away, sealed away in some fashion, or rendered temporarily dormant. Hell, in the comics, he’s fought the likes of Superman, Thor, and Hulk.

I get that, but it wasn’t him being killed by someone else. He literally became so powerful that his body couldn’t contain it anymore. It’s also kind of a cheat because Jr. basically became the new Godzilla, so he continued on in a way. I still think it would be neat to see a continuation of that story, where there is a Heisei style Godzilla that is actually friendly toward humanity. I guess those shorts they’ve done over the last few years are the closest we’ll get.
