I kinda like the idea of sports games but I don’t like how disposable they are with the yearly licensed games. I think a game like this is actually perfect. Too bad it’s soccer and not hockey, a real man’s sport.

As an American getting into it, there's a lot of depth and fun to be found in positioning. Figuring out how to drive opponents to the outside to limit their shooting options, how to overload on offense and defense and shut down or open up passing lanes without leaving key spaces too unguarded, figuring out how much you want to focus on possession vs. attempts at the goal. It's pretty cool.

I saw an "American Football" game live once when I was in Minneapolis.
I do not believe this is a real sport, there were 2 hours of ads and 10 minutes of roided up tards running on a square then all action stopping after 10 seconds.

I loved the beta test but after playing it thoroughly, I don't really see this having the complexity going forward, say versus Rocket League and being able to fly and having exploding cars shit.

Most goals scored are the keeper just being janky and not working right. Guy dives left to save the ball and it just goes Too far or not enough and doesn't magnetise to his gloves.

You can tell if he's going to kick it to the wall because it's angled up high, that's why your instinct is always to hit triangle to do a jumping catch. Ignore your instinct and wait for the second kick. The odds of him actually shooting the ball above your head and hitting that goal are extremely small, I've seen it hit just under the bar and make a goal once. That's even if he's trying to score and not just trick you with the rebound pass to himself. Just don't take the bait.

I got a game you can try which is pretty noob friendly, just go buy a ball and gather your mates. Stand in a circle with some space between you ofc, and now you're going to give up the ball(just take it into your hands and kick it into the air). Now someone other than the person who gave it up has to kick it back up and preferably over to one of your mates. The ball can only touch the ground once or the guy who kicked it last loses a life. You only get to touch the ball once, and then once of your mates have to touch it before you can touch it again.
You get three lives each and once you found the winner, the losers line up against a wall with the butts facing towards the winner, who gets to thundercunt the ball at you. Rinse and repeat.
It should teach you some ball control and be decently fun while you're at it. Also, once you all git gud, you can add or remove rules.
