I see the PS Portal mocked all of the time, but I get it, Sony wanted tthe PS5 to be a hybrid like the Swiitch, but the hardware makes it impossible for it to be a real portable, so how do you take it with you on the go, like you would with a Switch? Remote Play was the only way to do this and, even if not perfect, for an unexpensive accessory it does what it sets out to do well enough.
