I know that people get triggered by Absolution but playing it on the highest difficulty while enjoying the campy plot was a blast for me. I would agree that if you play the game on normal you wouldn't be having a lot of fun since there is too much handholding.

The best of the 3D Fallouts. The one with the best atmosphere. The one that lets you sink into the world. Cyberpunk 2077 and Absolution are pretty similar in that matter since they have a great feeling to them too.

Generally speaking I think people have the idea that playing a lot of games prohibits you from liking mainstream ones or that your taste must inherently become more obscure, which to me has always seemed like the inverse of what really happens (i.e. the more games you play, the more you appreciate everything the big names get right and/or how few others share their appeal).
