Last time I posted about this game I got called a shill, but there's an rts called D.O.R.F being developed that's very c&c inspired with some key differences/changes that seem really awesome. Unfortunately it's one of those never ever games that probably won't come out for another 5 years

I'm about to buy this but I'm remembering they fucked up the single player for c&c 3 and kane's wrath with 'balance' patches made for multiplayer sweaters and you'd have to downgrade anyway and actually just pirate an old torrent

do any of these actually run well on modern windows? the reviews from these old games on steam are always exclusively people saying "played this game when I was a kid it's a gem! thumbs up!" with 0 hours played on steam. people that buy the game for nostalgia then never play it.

One of my all time favorite finds was a third party map pack CD called Defcon 3. It had hundreds of custom maps for RA and C&C, blew my mind way back when.

Pulled it out of a bargain bin at the local game store.

Bought it a few months ago to play Red Alert 2 with some friends. Tried out some other mainline C&C games, replayed Renegade for old time's sake, along with finally playing Generals after years of saying I'll get to it.
Runs just fine on my Windows 11 PC. No bloat, no DRM, nothing. I say it's worth it. The only problem I ran into is Red Alert 2 (and Yuri's Revenge) specifically refused to close when I exited the game so I have to kill it through task manager, but that's a minor issue.
