If we take the 60 million copies sold as true and assume everyone still playing Skyrim on steam is playing a modded version that accounts for 1/10th of 1% of the entire fan base.
That is less relevant than a rounding error.
I have no idea where modders got the idea they had an impact on Bethesda games success.
