Yes. Burntrap was a massive mistake born from miscommunication and retconned to just be M2 (the main Mimic). Afton is still very much dead, though he can still make a sort of soft-return through mimicry.

Yes. Everything from Help Wanted and forward points toward the Mimic(s), like everything from 1-UCN pointed toward Afton. The Murrays are in, the Aftons are out (though the Mimics have been so thorougly corrupted by Afton's fuckery they might as well be Aftons).

The Glamrocks are completely sentient and both Mimics seem rather sentient albeit M2 behaves like a gigantic autist so his situation's a bit unclear.

They had a really impressive AI but it got lost in, what I assume, is someone really wanting a piece of that FNAF pie once that became super popular.

Also I swear with FNAF and Neighbor, they're really afraid to just say the bad guys were pedophiles. Strong I know, but if you wanted a better adult fear used of children being hurt, just imply THAT and you'll really have a dark horror game. You should hear the tale of dormitabis. a fnaf fangame that came out after 4 and rewrote the whole fnaf story. Of note is the "main antagonist" preston garvey, who in one of the lore tapes is implied to have raped a kid before killing her.
the game was actually pretty decent and scared me a few times, but the dev got cancelled on twitter and bullied off the internet. a shitty "remaster" came out with none of the soul or scariness of the original.

I don't think it is a "I want more money" thing, Scott consistently said it's because he has a new idea he wanted to try out (Or in the case of 3 he wasn't satisfied with the gameplay).
