fullscreen doesnt exist in dx12 mode. only borderless window. so use borderless and make sure windows has hdr enabled.

I had an issue with Monster Hunter Wilds where my monitor's HDR capabilities weren't being detected (despite working in Rise and World) due to some funny issue with how the monitor reports VRR capabilities. I fixed it by tweaking some setting in a program called the Custom Resolution Utility.

if you have an newer nvidia card keep it off in game, turn HDR on in your screen settings and open the Nvidia overlay and turn on RTX HDR instead.
