You can have fun, but do not feel compelled to get "alternate weapon at level 3 strength" for your favourite character.

Did they ever fix the memory leak on the Switch version? It's not that hard to avoid, but it was there the entire time I played the game and it surprised me that it wasn't patched despite everyone knowing about it.

I played for about 500 hours on my WiiU copy and even then I only completely finished the original map, Master Quest and about 75% of the TP map. Never made a start on the MM one. How much extra shit did the Switch version have?

The Definitive Edition itself doesn't add much, but it has all of the 3DS port's extra content and QoL features. That includes like four new Adventure maps as well as Tetra, King of Red Lions, Medli, Marin, Toon Zelda, Ravio, and Yuga as playable characters. Even with the original Adventure map being rebalanced to be quicker and easier to accommodate a more natural difficulty progression across the maps, it's easily double what was already in the WiiU version even including the DLC.

There are a lot of repeated missions but harder and the higher difficulty spots on the map are absurdly tedious, and the Wii U game at least ranks you on your HP, one hit and your A-Rank is gone and you need that A-Rank to unlock higher-tier weapons. I'm not sure what the 3DS/Switch ports did to fix that, but I didn't triple dip specifically because I already had the final roster on the Wii U and the Switch game didn't add any new characters or anything worth picking it up. I had my fill by the end of the Master Mode Map.

The Switch version changed the damage ranking by judging you based on the percentage of health you lost, rather than the flat amount of damage done to you. It gave you a lot more leeway and made your health upgrades worth a damn.

Wasted potential, FD could have been the two-handed swordsman and YL could have used the transformation masks in his moveset. I didn't really like YL in HW too much.

The first one and its extended port is just a Zelda flavored musou, and a high quality one at that.
Age of Calamity (and assumedly the same for the upcoming age of imprisonment) are a whole different beast - yes, they are musou, but Age of Calamity leans so far into BotW mechanics and story that I'd say it's as much as a sequel to BotW as TotK is, though they take place in alternate timelines.

The whole point of fierce deity link was to let you be over powered as fuck beyond any other character for as long as you could maintain it with magic. Having fierce deity be a separate character would have ruined it because they'd have to downplay his power to match every other character who is - by lore - not even comparable which is why it was restricted to magic use on young link
