Is deltarune actually worth playing? Please give me an honest to god answer as I've been told many times here that its a masterpiece by other anons yet I have a feeling in the back of my mind that they haven't played alot of games themselves and there are 100 threads a day dedicated to this game that feel cult like. I'm not trying to judge i just want to know

Ch1-2 is free. You'll notice the first 30s whether it's worth it, once the reddit writing kicks in, and the overstylized graphics kill all the SOVL Undertale had.

An honest to god answer: Sure. The gameplay is alright and the writing is ok. Is it God's gift to gamers? No. Is it LGTBBQ+ propaganda? No.
It's just an above-average game that only really gained such a fanbase due to it taking nearly a decade to reach this point.

it's written well, but the humor isnt as good as undertale's imo. it's also a little less captivating than undertale generally, but the story is still really good. the story is generally what you'd want to be playing it for. there are some really fun sequences too, though. if you liked undertale i think it's definitely worth it.
