6s in general are pretty good
For og trilogy easily 1-4. Unbelievably satisfying after he spends the whole case shitting on you

I always liked Gantโ€™s breakdown eapecially with the music it felt eerie. I didnโ€™t like that case initially because itโ€™s retroactively added content that doesnโ€™t fit in too well but Gant is a great villain.

Kristophโ€™s breakdowns are alright too, the first case of AA4 is amazing one of the best cases in the whole series, but the final case is somewhat a letdown because heโ€™s already in jail. My interpretation is that his punishments changes from jail to execution because of multiple murders so I suppose thatโ€™s something.

I didnโ€™t like any of the AAI2 breakdowns. Theyโ€™re funny but felt way too cartoony. It got to the point where you could tell who the culprit is by thinking of who would have the craziest breakdown animation.

I don't know, I think it gives better motivation for Edgeworth to push himself away from the table than 1-4 does on its own. The only thing I can think of that doesn't jibe with the other chapters is when Redd White personally calls up the Chief Prosecutor to have Phoenix arrested in 1-2 they seem to be a random nobody, but I have a bigger problem with 1-2's claims about Bluecorp's alleged reach and the pall that casts over the rest of the canon (including hinting that the judge, who would be characterized in later games as 'always arriving at the right verdict' as being one of White's blackmailed puppets) than anything 1-5 adds.

This was just a fancier way of saying "I snitched on you to the queen" to make things more interesting. The same thing couldve been achieved without a hologram by Sherlock asking for the queen to secretly attend the trial or something, this is just more entertaining.

That's retarded. How would that steady her aim compared to a target that's lying down on the floor?
>I wanted a steadier aim to stab him, so I unstrapped his body from a harness, stood up a large man's body up as a woman, propped it up somehow, stabbed him, and then moved it back down into the harness
Sithe could have made that argument and it's technically unfalsifiable. But she cracked. And it's a shit tier argument regardless, it discernibly less likely than the alternative of Asman being alive post-fall. Ryunosuke would've BTFO her either way, and he had her dead to rights on the blackmailing link.

I finished Apollo Justice trilogy recently and it was alright I guess. Most of the cases were mediocre and 3d models were god awful (Edgeworth's animations looks like he's from a WEG), but it wasn't offensively bad like I've seen some people say.
Only case I really didn't like was the final case, the time traveler one. It was beyond boring and felt like a rejected case for The Great Ace Attorney.
The best breakdown was Gant.

AA4 has some good overarching ideas and 4-1 is fantastic, but it's ultimately bogged down by weaker cases (4-2, 4-3) and structural issues in 4-4.
AA5 has way stronger cases, but it's bogged down by the overarching plot (Phoenix stealing the spotlight and the "dark age of the law" being all tell no show, jury system plot getting completely dropped with no explanation, etc.). The difficulty and gameplay casualization sucked too, even while the case logistics were more in-depth than most cases in AA1-3.
AA6 is easily the best mainline game post AA3. It's only weighed down by balancing the large cast and overarching plot issues grandfathered in from AA4/AA5. Top-tier cases, good plot and it largely unjusted the casualized gameplay and difficulty.

True, but Maya channels Mia while Cody's on the stand in 1-3, so her talent, at least, is proven. He was also pointed in Maya's direction by Miney.
Still, you could be right about him not trusting the seance - his bringing a gun implies he suspected a trap, at the very least.

I really liked the first three cases in AA6, but I've got big problems with the structure of the last three. The 6-4 is irrelevant to the plot and should have been the DLC case of the game (I actually like the case itself, it would just make more sense to happen after the main story).
6-4 being irrelevant to the main plot is even worse by the fact that 6-5 is actually two cases in one and both subcases are hurt because of that. They should have made the Japanfornia subcase 6-4 instead, so that there is more time to flesh out characters and give more setup to the Khurain case (which in turn could be expanded because it would have full 6-5 for itself).
6-6 is just boring, it should have been scraped completely.
Still, I liked the game, the beginning was great and twists were good, it's just that there was potential for a much better game.

6-4's placement is only a issue if you think the 4th case always needs to be plot relevant or finale lead-up. It's fine, 6-3 was already very plot relevant so 6-4 is just a short filler break. Giving the spotlight to Athena in a game she wasn't involved in was a good move too.

6-5 probably should've been split into two cases, I agree. I don't think the quality of either side was worse off because of it though. 6-5 is already long as fuck, the Khurain half could've been expanded a bit more but the not-Napal half already felt bloated.
6-DLC is mediocre. Not defending that one.

Rittenhouse was a retarded kid who shouldn't have been there, but it was 100% self defense. He broke down during his testimony because he's a spaz.

The whole case was interesting. He only testified because his fense team knew there was no way a Wisconsin jury would've voted to acquit him on self-defense without hearing the defendant's side of the story directly.

It feels like 6's DLC was literally just an attempt at fan service. My first thought upon seeing the whole idea was "cool, the old gang all got together again!" and then my second thought was "wow this case is kinda shit and the writing is plain as fuck."
One thing I'll give to it though is the quality of the not-sprites. Most of the time even being excessively animated.

>>He would have been found guilty if it wasn't self defense
That's what I said.
If it weren't for self-defense act, he'd just be pinned as a dude showing up at a riot with guns; easy to frame as a "he was out for blood" and "looking for trouble". The end.
But the faggots HAD to attack him while other people were filming, giving him a self-defense claim and proving him right.

I only played the earliest games but he comes across as a fool in those.

yeah I wouldn't mind a filler fourth case if 6-5 was split

>>713178798
I wrote in my original comment, but my schizo theory is that the DLC case was a TGAA reject/prototype. I don't have any evidence except it's low quality and steampunk aesthetic.

If they hadn't attacked him no shots would have been fired and there wouldn't be a case in the first place.

Yeah, but in (I think) one of the AAI games while they're commenting on how fickle and gullible he is they add that he always manages to make the correct verdict.

>AA5 has way stronger cases,
No it does not. The only good case in AA5 is the DLC one.
>AA6 is easily the best mainline game post AA3.
I don't know. The whole Kur'ain plot feels like the series jumping the shark. While the second and fourth cases are really good, the finale is disappointing and the third case is outright terrible.

>this is never something you can bring up as apollo until far too late into the case
>when you DO bring it up, its just the "well can you prove he WASNT there?"
>listen to the same song 5+ times
Its shit. I've heard it defended as "the case is retarded to show why Phoenix has to help add the juror system!", but I don't care. Its still dumb and retarded and goes far too long.

It's terrible.
>Maya the culprit for the umpteenth time in the series
>Have Maya and Ema, the assistants from the first game, in the same case but never have them interact or investigate with Phoenix
>Only one witness on first day of trial whose testimony is completely pointless because he just made it all up
>Maya found guilty on the first day even thought Nahyuta has literally no evidence or theory of how she did it
>Maya just lets this happen even though she could channel the dead victim at any time
>Nahyuta arguing that Maya must have had god powers in order to carry out the second murder
>The abbot's plan was not only completely retarded and unnecessary, I'm supposed to feel sympathy for him after he tries his hardest to get Maya executed
The only good part of that case was Inga.
