There is functionally no way to gatekeep anything in the modern age if you are not the company producing it. The best thing you can do is pick up as much as you can and leave. Even if the company is willing to maintain the quality of the product, management changes can happen almost completely at random.
Effectively the only gatekeeping tool that communities possess is the AGPLv3+NIGGER.
