>>713173219 (OP)doubt anyone who worked on death stranding actually plays it
Let me guess I have to wait a decade until it comes out on PC? More like X days left.
>>713173426the pc release date leaked a while ago it was some day in october.
>>713173219 (OP)I hope you already preordered if you wanted a physical copy, Kojima-chads.
>>713173219 (OP)god i love walking but in video games
>>713173472Kojima won my money. (In october).
>>713173472Probably will be a bit later this time, since DS2 is seemingly selling better than the first game
>>713173605I preordered the collectors edition which annoyingly doesn't come with a disc.
>>713173770Considering Kojima love physical medias I'm surprised the only edition that exist as a disc is the basic one
>>713173472DS2 is published by Sony. There is no way this leak is actually true.
>>713173830Oh fuck, a birthday gift for me! I'm just not going to buy a ps5, then. Instead, i will upgrade my pc and get DS2 on pc.
>>713173916It's weird since the game is no longer owned by Sony, but they still are considering it part of Playstation studio due to Sony helping on it a lot with resources/the engine? it's weird
>first story already sucked
>everyone knows what to expect for the walking
Is there even a way for him to fuck this up?
When do I get to have sex with Amelie?
>>713174238Oh fuck you for that spoiler (It was expected but still)
>>713173916i THINK
>>713174024Sony are bankrolling it, aren't they? Because it's Kojima he probably has more leniency with negotiating and since Death Stranding is such a niche title making the timed exclusivity a shorter window than usual makes sense. I think Kojima basically offered Sony a mainstream appeal (timed) exclusive title that normies will like (Physinit) and in exchange they'll fund his weird niche passion projects (DS).

>It's not a walking simulator! Kojima-san wouldn't do that.
>Okay it's a walking simulator. And that's a good thing. Americans are great fans of first-person shooters and Death Stranding isn't one, it flies higher.

>Prease buy my shooting game
Early reviews in
>I made it bad on purpose
>>713174197Kojima saw that early impressions of the story were good and so he rewrote it to be worse. I can only assume that means some characters will die.
>>713174238So we thinking Norman Reedus dies and we play not-Snake?
>left the first one for 6 months
>come back cause I'm almost done
>stuck fighting some stupid fucking whale monster that is cockblocking my delivery
FUck
>>713174296Physint wasn't a thing until 2021 or so, he decided to make it because he was scared of his health and players kept asking him to do another metal gear
The original death stranding was fully owned by Sony until a few month ago where Kojipro got the rights back. But most of the development of the second game still was under Sony : so with their budget and also help from other Sony studio (if you look at the credit of the original game, you will see there was a lot of PlayStation studios who worked on it, it wasn't just Kojipro though many people think it was)
Metacritic early reviews have done nothing to disuade my hype.
Have you discovered the hidden theme of Death Stranding?
>>713173916they don't publish the pc version. ds1 on pc was published by some italian company (that kojima fired)
>>713174024It's pretty simple, the first game was substantially financed outside of sony. They paid a lot, but it was only for the 6 months of exclusivity. For the second game, they basically repeated the same deal.
You know astroturfing support here isn't going to sell the game, yes?
>>713173219 (OP)I'm gonna play it at 11pm on Monday.
>>713174461There is no reviews out, and I don't see leaks. Embargo is up Monday so before early access release.
>>713174504I feels like they might end up waiting a bit because when they did that with the first game, they weren't expecting it to actually be a success on PC (it sold better there)
They might end up waiting a bit like with Stellar Blade, so that more people buy PS5s (I know of people who did so, some even bought the pro edition)
I'd never buy a console for a few exclusive games. Are exclusivity deals really worth it?
>>713174697They used to in the past, I don't think they are as much anymore, but if they keep doing them, it must still work
>>713174623Yes that's possible. that's why they don't announce planned release dates, because sony could always off them another boatload of cash.
I rate it as unlikley though.
>>713174568faster to drop some of the stuff and come back
>>713174568millenials think this is gameplay
>>713174697it's worth it for everyone but the player.
I kinda hope the "main story is 70 hours" thing isn't true because it's almost too longs, the 30/40 hours of the first game were good enough
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death Stranding. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of the trigger buttons most of the traversal will go over a typical gamer's head. There's also Kojima's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his writing - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Hollywood movies, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realize that they're not just films - they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Death Stranding truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the meaning behind Amelie's existential catchphrase "Like Mario and Princess 'Beach'" which itself is a cryptic reference to videogame classic, Super Mario Bros. 2. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Kojima's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Norman Reedus tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
>>713174441>Physint wasn't a thing until 2021 or so,That doesn't mean Kojima couldn't have offered Sony a vague promise of giving timed exclusivity on a more normie friendly game if they let him make his niche artsy games first.
I thought I'd be more interested by now, but I'm just not. Probably the first kojima game I won't be buying sadly. Death Stranding is just not interesting and I know whatever mystery there is in the trailers will be overexplained to hell and be floating amongst pee and poo gags.
>>713174861It's not long enough. I'm already disappointed that there's only 42 outposts.
>>713174937I mean, is it really that niche? Kojima's popularity with people skyrocketed ever since he left Konami, i'd say he is 5 times more popular now by the average joe than in his Konami days
>>713173219 (OP)Im really tempted to buy this, but the game Im interested the most is Bananza, and it comes out in a month. Im torned between Raidou (love megaten, but 50usd for a remaster of a mid game seems much) or DS2 (liked the lore of the first game, enjoy the walking simulator, not a fan of the combat or the million hour cutscenes, also DS2 is a 100 hour game). I dont know if Ill enjoy and finish the game before july 17th
>>713174473Is that guy in the game? I think Ive seen him in a couple of japanese tv shows
>>713175042>I mean, is it really that niche? It's a game about delivering packages. Yes, it's niche. Maybe most normies would have the capacity to enjoy it if they gave it a chance but as soon as they find out what the core gameplay is most normies are checked out.
I wanna shoot, kill, level up, dodge roll, and fight bosses. Will Death Stranding 2 have these things?
>>713175001I enjoyed watching the story in youtube more than actually playing the game
>>713173219 (OP)What the fuck? It's coming out already?
I got bored of the first one pretty quickly so hopefully this one is better.
>>713174568should have planned better shithead
>>713175236i did see that you take the backpack off for combat this time. The first game didn't have very great bossfights, they were basically all the same.
>>713175236Yes, its a character action game at its core
>>713173219 (OP)It's going to be kino but some e-celeb will say that it's a waking sim and anon here will parrot it until it comes to PC and they realise it's not that at all
>>713174568Imagine being so dumb, that you don't use the tools that the game gives you to traverse areas not to connected the grid, and then you complain about it. Webm related.
This game is truly the brown man's kryptonite.
I hope it fails so it gets on PC faster.
>>713175679Imagine replying to bait. What are you, 12?
>>713174568i love all the fake info anons give to pretend the game is bad, forcefully being overweight, or not holding the triggers

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, FLOP OF THE CENTURY CONFIRMED
>>713175815Is that a low number? People said the world looked massive
>>713175815Only needed one for dead mule storage.
>>713175798I took that from reddit (no I won't go back), from a post that is selling/praising the game. This is what DS kojimbo slop lovers use to showcase their game.
>>713174473I like that guy
>>713175138Dont know if he's in the game, but Ive seen him in shows like Dr Storks and MIU404
>>713175679I can't wait to climb that mountain.
Mountaineering was the best chapter of the first game.
PC version can't come soon enough.
>>713175918compared to other open world games death stranding doesn't have big maps
>>713174441The reason so many ps studios are included in the credits is because of the engine.
>>713176427I played the first one (never finished it) and it seemed decent, pur I read some posts saying it looked massive in the 2nd game
>>713176524Not really, that would be for Guerilla, but there was a lot of others, for asset creation and a few other stuff
more than one thousand people worked on Death Stranding
>>713176396>Mountaineering was the best chapter of the first game.Yep, that was also my favorite part of the game.
>>713174473kek
this is meant to be comedic r-right??
>>713176427It still takes 5 to 10 minutes to drive from one of the map to the other with a trike.
I have little girl fatigue
Pragmata death stranding donkey kong
Make it stop
>>713175918>>713176427Death Stranding 1's Central Region map was about 7 miles across. Skyrim is about 3.5 miles and GTA V is about 8 miles. So it's about on par with other open world games.
It feels a lot bigger than it is because walking is your primary mode of transport for most of the game.
>>713176860>It feels a lot bigger than it is because walking is your primary mode of transport for most of the game.Skyrim feels way bigger than Death Stranding.
>>713176746that's probably because the roads are indirect and have sections that can't be driven at full speed
>>713176767Yeah, bro. Mario Bros, Flight Simulator, Trails of... its all the same
>>713173219 (OP)Kojima games are getting old
>>713176912Yeah wide as an ocean deep as a puddle big
>>713176912I think the throat of the world being the center of the map makes it feel a lot bigger than it is. There is no direct path from east to west like there is in Oblivion.
>>713175679>That huge mountain in the backgroundI can hardly wait to climb it.
I'm ready for the Filter Stranding.
>>713173219 (OP)Release on PC you fucking jap
>>713173219 (OP)Im ready to buy this game, play it for 20 hours, then drop it an watch the rest of the story on youtube
>>713180472that means you got filtered, don't be that guy. Keep on keeping on.
>>713180908I got filtered by combat and exposition, I liked the walking sinulator and the overall story/lore
>>713181336at least the combat will be more polished now
>>713173219 (OP)not playing this boring slop even free
>>713173219 (OP)>>IGN suddenly posts more Kojima and Death Stranding contentI honestly smell a 10 coming, which is crazy cause the first game only got a 6.8
>>713173219 (OP)I can't wait to walk again.
>>713174238So i'm guessing his lou's father?
>>713184647Previews were already extremely positive, so I am expecting at least a 9.3 rating.
>>713185808Clifford is Lou's father. Already unveiled at the end of in DS1.
>>713177560Damn that animation of the BB freezing as he plugs in is so sick. Spooky
>>713186490Christ no Clifford is Sam’s father you idiot
>>713173472>>713173830Please b real. I was expecting next June at the earliest
>>713186490anon... Cliff being Lou's father is what's presumed from the start, and the ending reveal is that Sam was Cliff's kid
>>713185808Maybe. It is revealed in the trailer that he had a (short?) relationship with the German doctor chick, so maybe she is Lou's mom.
>>713186490Cliff Unger is Sam's biological father. It isn't revealed until the very end of the game after you have kicked his ass three times. kek
>>713174238unless the psychologist its also sam wife its not
>>>>713174238i thought lou father was that russian guy that died in death stranding 1 scripted BT ambush cutscene anyway
>>713187603it was the most dissapointing shit of first game and they re repeating it with solid luigi
>>713188250>i thought lou father was that russian guy that died in death stranding 1 scripted BT ambush cutscene anywayNo, Lou was just his BB. He wasn't her biological father.

>started out Death Stranding not really caring about BB beyond him just a status bar that I have to manage
>30 hours in, I avoid rivers altogether and comfort him more often just for the fuck of it and not just to keep his status bar high
This game makes me want to be a dad now
>>713176327Was this supposed to be a gotcha?
>>713176427Are you one of those games that thinks Ubisoft making some bland open world that is just miles and miles of copy pasted forests with the same four missions copypasted 100 times each is peak game design?
>>713188875If you use the Speed Skeleton you can jump over most rivers and BB gets excited.
>>713189373uh no? I didn't even say it was too small, just that it was not big
>>713174172Took Kojimbo about 5 years to get on xbox unless things changed I'd expect somewhere in that range.
>>713188875I'm a dad and Lou's crying always triggers my paternal instincts, although I know very well that it isn't real. Very strange.
>ps5 overheating
literally gonna play this game with the ps5 next to a a/c
>>713186335they only do full numbers, it's either a 9 or 10 but looking at how much content they put out of Kojima and DS in the last few days i'm expecting the latter
>>713193190I meant a 9.3 average on OpenCritic and MetaCritic. I guess I should have made that clearer.
