Alistair is extremely dislikable manchild in DAO
>He is so afraid of responsibility in the most pathetic way possible
>He is very immature and alternates being a brat and making inappropriate jokes.
>He puts Duncan, a man he barely knows for six months up on a pedestal like Duncan is his dad and expects the player to have the same reverence for the man, despite the possibility you may have valid reasons for resenting him
>Alistair also has some weird ideas what it means to be a grey warden and doesn’t understand that grey wardens are not about sentimentality and family, they’re about killing dark spawn and ending the blight by any means necessary.

And god forbid you say something he doesn’t like or disagree with. Alistair is the only companion in the game that can routinely throw a hissy fit at you, get angry at you and refuse to speak with you unless you apologise. Worse yet, when you go to apologise to him, he is a total asshole about it and not even remotely interested in hearing you unless you push the issue.

If you spare Loghain at the landsmeet and recruit him into the grey warden, an idea that Riordan brought up and Duncan himself would have done too because that what senior grey wardens do and are all about. Alistair would kick up a massive fuss over it and “leaves” the grey wardens, showing how childish and unreliable he really is. Good riddance.

Loghain on the other hand made some horrendous mistakes and choices but he at least still takes full responsibility for them and can have an adult conversation about it anyways, unlike Alistair.

Why did people ever liked this manchild of a character?

He was never good. Only dumb women liked this turd. I always cut his dick off and imprison him for Loghain every playthrough

How would you feel if, when playing human noble, Howe was spared and he joined the Grey Wardens? Maybe even sacrificed himself to be remembered as a hero of the fifth blight?

Why not? Being a grey warden isn’t a social club.

Loghain fags are legitimately cuckolds.

>he would be fine with the guy that murdered his parents remaining alive
>he would be fine with that guy dying like a hero who will be fondly remembered instead of the absolute piece of shit that he truly was
absolutely cucked holy shit. Did you romance Morrigan and then let Loghain impregnate her too?

>I deserved... more!
Yes, he did. Being forced to drink liquid blight and be sent off to die in the deeps would've been closer to justice than just killing him.

You do remember that killing the Archdemon obliterates the Warden's immortal soul yeah? It doesn't matter how popular he is afterwards, you get the satisfaction of know he's as fucking dead as it's possible to be. He won't even be a ghost.

>you get the satisfaction of know he's as fucking dead as it's possible to be
And you'll get the satisfaction of seeing people praising him as a hero while completely ignoring everything else he did

That's the point of character progression. It's the Warden's story as much as it is Allistar or Morrigan, or any of the others. Hell if you play as a noble Cousland, your character is a slacker too but he is forced into action.

Loghain betrayed his monarch. There is no going back from something like this. He belongs on a chopping block by definition. Simple as.

if you recruit this snake he would betray you the second he gets a chance. Yes, even during the battle with the archdemon but most probably far before you reach the dragon

Alistair and Morrigan are inversions of one another. Alistair is feminine, weak, prefers to follow, is emotional, etc. Morrigan is masculine, ruthless, blunt, non emotional, etc.

When you realize that it's easy to see why women think they would like men like Alistair and why young men enjoyed Morrigan.

Bioware said it wasn't canon when people started asking if the gay blacksmith's fuckboy was really a Desire Demon in the main game
