Elves aren't interesting gameplay-wise. They're supposed to be this ancient, mysterious, superior species, but in vidya they're just slightly better archers/mages with nothing else to go with. Oh, they also happen to be pricks half the time.
Even the rock-humping manlets are more interesting: sometimes they're drunken berserkers, sometimes skilled gunsmiths, sometimes unhinged mechanical tinkers and this turns into gameplay with glorious results. They work with various personality types, too.

The main character is my favorite, actually. He manages to be competent and confident while still having an interesting personality and also being fallible. Most importantly, I love how he treats all those powerful otherworlder royals like they're his students.

Unironically Dragon Age because they're an inversion of what you usually expect of Elves being this timeless, surreal, perfect society.

Elves in Dragon Age USED to be that but their golden age is far, far behind them. They've lost their immortality, they're basically second class citizens living in slums in human cities, they've tried multiple times to recapture their lost glory but only fall further from it on each failed attempt. Some of them do still make a living for themselves out in the woods away from humans but are struggling to reclaim even a fragment of their lost history. I find them fascinating in these regards, how they are either thieves/beggars scraping by in human cities or wandering native-esque tribals inna woods who have no real home of their own and are trying to reclaim a lost identity. That their golden age is long behind them and this is what's left.

I still think Marcille is the best written elf of all time. Better than Galadriel. Better than Frieren.
