I seem to remember trying that when I briefly played it and it just felt off, like the whole thing was written for a young character. I'm pretty sure it didn't let me go very old either.

i didn't care for BG3 either trying to play that archetype. the age thing but also everything is so disjointed. there's so many quests and side characters and none of them feel like they tie in together at all, and your character doesn't really matter for any of them. you could be playing a warrior or thief and everything would play out exactly the same.
