I didn't really like Abyss desu. The characters were dumb as fuck, the story was complete nonsense, and the combat system was a direct downgrade from Symphonia.
I'm still trying to get through Xillia 1. I like the game but the maps have too many enemies roaming around, I just constantly use that consumable that gets rid of them
How comes Namco never made a Tales based on Wuthering Waves or Genshin Impact? They're so desperate for a gacha and they never tried the money maker formula?

They want a gacha because it's free money, but they also don't want to actually put in any modicum of effort. At this point, it seems like they've rightfully given up with how awful Crestoria and Luminaria were.

My problem with Xillia 2 was that I bought together with Xillia 1 years ago. Never finished it.
Sure, there's new content, but it was kind of hard getting into a recycled game right after finishing the first one. I was a little glad I didn't do both Millia and Jude playthroughs.

Best combat system, excellent story and true ending is a masterpiece, new music is solid especially the battle tracks. Only thing holding it back is that it's tied to Xillia, it should have been its own story.

I liked it alot
the money blocks to proceed to the next chapter are overcome by just hunting the unique monsters, aka playing the videogame

The guy who directed it, Kenji Anabuki, also directed Scarlet Nexus, which has a fan-fucking-tastic combat system, although the story is pants-on-head retarded (but I blame Bamco for that).
