Anon, I know you took a test from some Indian website that said you're a very smart lad for being able to showcase basic pattern recognition, but it's plainly obvious to anyone who's been on /v/ for more than a day that when people throw around the term "soul", they usually mean that the game(s) they grew up with have more heart because they played it when they were seven years old.
It's either that, or because of some innate emotional feeling you have that tells you something has "soul" because you personally like said thing (this usually wraps back around to feelings of nostalgia anyway).

There actually was a golden age, most people had a great time in general during that period.

Soul/souless is just a Reddit tinted way of saying somethings good/bad. It's not that complicated. If a person thinks a game looks like shit, it's soulless. If a person enjoys the game, it's soulful.

Obviously not true. Soul has to do with creative vision. The reason why a lot of remakes and remasters such is the people that make them attempt to emulate what they see in the absence of the creative vision which was the image the game was formed in. Look at the Elder Scroll's Oblivion remake/remaster for a CLEAR example of this. Absolute butchery. Has nothing to do with nostalgia, but even so, consider the strength of the nostalgic affect may have had to do with the soul of the thing itself. If you throw away the concept of soul, creative visions, etc, there's nothing to stop you from getting slop and a decreased quality of life.

More care and consideration was put into things back in the day. This can be seen across-the-board in all industries, not just gaming. I can play a game from 20 years ago I've never seen in my life and see the creativity and passion put into it that simply hasn't been abundant in gaming for like 10+ years now.

Sometimes it's nostalgia.
Sometimes it's simply distinct art direction or writing, anything that stands out from the norm.
Sometimes it's both.
Modern games often blow off the latter with copypaste assets and make shameless appeals to the former, which typically only serves to remind you of a better game you could be replaying than whatever slop you're consuming.
