Castlevania
While the series is dormant outside of a mobile game, an upcoming mobile game and a musical, how are we liking its spiritual successors like Bloodstained and Chronicles of the Wolf? Also, Castlevania thread.

I haven't gotten Chronicles of the Wolf yet, but it looks fun.

I like how you can get stupidly OP in that game.

This thread will die so that another industry seething and anti-jap falseflagginf thread can be made.

Kind of basic opinion, but my favourite Classicvanias are Dracula's Curse and Bloodlines and my favourite IGAvanias are Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow.

What do you guys think of Bloodstained: The Scarlet Engagement so far? I read the recent interview with IGA and Iida and they said there's a class system and base customisation, so that seems interesting to say the least.

Konami said it will define the direction of the franchise, so I guess the next game is either a Symphony of the Night remake or sequel.

What does he look like? Did they not just do some variation of the classic Count Orlok makeup?

>>713241829
He probably means that Apple Arcade game and the Chinese bootleg one that Konami ended up licensing

Grimoire of Souls and Moonlight Rhapsody, which as of last year, it resumed development.

>>713241894
They used the Nocturne design.

Olrox's design in Moonlight Rhapsody and Vampire Survivors looks oddly similar to Orlok's from the new Nosferatu movie, and the game was revealed five years ago.

Bloodstained COTM are pretty good games for what they are.
ROTN is decent enough. Got a lot of flaws, and way too easy unless you're challenging yourself with flawless/no hit runs, but it mostly feels right and fills the void.
Classic mode 2 was actually good. Surprisingly worth the $10, though $5 or less is obv better.

Yeah, the classic aspects of the franchise were really fun. I think all IGAvanias can be cheesed, even Order of Ecclesia gets easy once you get the Death Ring and Light and Dark union glyphs.

What in the fuck.
Ace Attorney I can actually kinda see, but god damn. A Basara musical sounds like a crackhead's fever dream while trying to go cold turkey.

Really liked Eggers' take on him, honestly. We've already had the classic Max Schrek makeup recreated God knows how many times, so seeing something with one foot in that but also going off on its own thing was nice.

Makes me wonder how Castlevania will handle the events of Bram Stoker's novel since Lament of Innocence took inspiration from Coppola's movie.

Yeah, and many of the promised content, like Soma as a main playable character and Familiars ultimately didn't make it into the finished product. Back when it was an online game, it had modes that would've effectively made it Harmony of Despair 2.
