Double Dash!! is the best-designed Mario Kart. There's not a single bad track and mechanics all exist in perfect harmony, most notably the Item roster and the effects of said items. The only flaw may be the unbalanced Vehicle roster where one vehicle is clearly the best (Barrel Train), with a few others also being pretty usable (Toad Kart, Pirhana Pipes, Parade Kart). The special items are also fairly balanced surprisingly, Peach & Daisy have pretty fucking dogshit ones and Mario & Luigi are nothing to write home about but the others you could all make a case for choosing. Koopa/Paratroopa have very common triple shells, DK/Diddy has the Giant Banana very useful for frontrunning, Bowser/Jr has the Giant Shell which is very funny, Toad/Toadette has the Golden Shroom you can get in FUCKING SECOND PLACE, Yoshi/Birdo has better Red Shells that sometimes have stars in them, and Wario/Waluigi have bombs which are kinda hard to use but the fact that they shoot people up into the fucking air and completely kill their speed still makes them pretty good. Petey/Boo are purposely OP and have all items but it's kinda made up for by the fact that heavies suck since they can't use the Barrel Train. And also they're rewards for basically 100% anyway.

I just played World's RR today, I heard people saying that it was the best RR of the series and honestly... those who say that are morons, unless I'm playing wrong the track is great but is no better than DS, 7, DD, Wii.

Don't get me wrong is a fantastic track but is far from the best.

MK8D and MKDS are the best games in the series. 7 is fine but there isn't much reason to play it since 8D exists.

World would be a lot more fun if the adaptive difficulty weren't punishing. I enjoyed trying to get three star ranks in the old games, and I can't really say the same for this one. Knockout tours are absolutely soul crushing, getting gold is hard enough but having the star ranks for getting first at EVERY leg is fucking bullshit. The "optimal" way to play is hanging back or even worse, abusing rewind and not engaging 3/4's of the game mechanics.

Heart is a bad item, it's extremely rare for what it is and it doesn't even work 100% of the time. You can block items with bananas and green shells and those actually have utility beyond that.

There's a massive in-between where a game plays itself and a game that feels like a shit powered jalopy. There's a reason you always have to drift, and that's because it's the only remote way to have any control over your vehicle. It's somehow worse than snaking in DS because at least dodging most items is easier when you're not drifting. It makes sense. There is never any reason to do anything in DD but drift.

Nah man, Baby Park is kino. It’s the perfect encapsulation of chaotic stupid fun, which is the whole point of Mario Kart. Not every track needs to be a scenic five-minute grand tour with lore-friendly environmental storytelling. Sometimes you just wanna throw 14 red shells in 30 seconds and scream with your friends. That's quality in its purest form.
