Don't they usually make bonus content/extra modes? Grace will be the main focus of the game and then it will probably have something else resembling mercenaries or outbreak. They have grace featured on the game banners already like leon in RE4.

I think the biggest hurdle all these new characters have is trying to have some kind of character development arc over time. So they start off with initial impressions that could be questionable, and by the time they develop, most people have written them off. Resident Evil has a fanbase that doesn’t care for those kinds of characters or development. They just want characters with strong first impressions and want to try to maintain the status quo. Character development isn’t valued per say.
