Don't they usually make bonus content/extra modes? Grace will be the main focus of the game and then it will probably have something else resembling mercenaries or outbreak. They have grace featured on the game banners already like leon in RE4.

Gimme RE2: apocalypse and make sure there is NG+.

I don't recall that at all, but I went back and read Spencers letter again and it sounds like he just thinks a virus is better for infecting masses of people than mold. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense since mold spores are airborne and pretty hearty.

the first 3 were way more about the characters being unprepared going into the unknown. 4 changed that with leon becoming a super soldier and obviously 5 did the same. 6 was like marvel tier with the cast at times.
7-8 arguably has the most OP characters of the whole series (ethan, rose) but they're not trained.

I think the biggest hurdle all these new characters have is trying to have some kind of character development arc over time. So they start off with initial impressions that could be questionable, and by the time they develop, most people have written them off. Resident Evil has a fanbase that doesn’t care for those kinds of characters or development. They just want characters with strong first impressions and want to try to maintain the status quo. Character development isn’t valued per say.
