people will ditch the AR yea and keep the magnum but thats because the magnum is the best medium range gun. You CAN use it at close and long range but youll always be out done by an AR/Shotgun/Plasma Rifle etc. or a sniper . halo ce has the most balanced sandbox out of all the bungie games tbqh. The only weapons that actually suck are the plasma pistol and needler.

I wish someone would make a halo MP that's just CE's sandbox on 2's maps with the minor tweaks in that game to the PP and sneedler

i dont think it takes much though, most of Halo CE's weapons are pretty obviuous as to their utility and if you play the campaign its intuitive. A shotgun will out DPS a magnum because of its raw power, an AR due to its lack of need for precise aiming, a PR strips shields quickly. Sure camo regrowth, melee ranges and etc. will all be a bit esoteric but you can certainly discover weapon strengths just by playing the game naturally. The magnum certainly isn't some dominating force like people who dont play the game make it out to be. At the very least its comparable in status to the BR in the latter games.

the nail guns were basically just smg's in that game. In halo the sneedler in the singeplayer sandbox is a good throwaway spam weapon for tougher opponents like elites where the tracking doesn't need to be as good
