You would think most mania fans would be classicboomers, however that is not the case
The thing is, Mania came out during the peak of "sonic was never good" cancer
Because this game was so well received and became the normie darling, it lead to a substantial amount of zoomer secondaries for whom mania is the only sonic game they've ever played
In other words, instead of dispelling the meme, it reinforced it by becoming the "exception", and so the mantra turned into "mania is the only good sonic game", which was spammed endlessly (similar to how many evangelionfags are people who hated mecha until they watched eva, and instead of reevaluating their opinion on the genre they go "ok mecha is shit except for eva")
These dregs then made it their life's mission to go on every sonic thread to whine about mania 2 and never play any other sonic game, while making up schizo stories about mania outselling every other sonic game and how that made sonic team very angry and jealous because they got "humilliated" so they tried to sabotage the mania team
When sonic superstars was revealed, without the mania team (who had become deified and could do no wrong) these people got very angry and started shilling their game (Penny's) which flopped while we know learned superstars was a success (at triple the asking price of mania!) so goes to show you how insignificant these faggots really are
