Trails was never good outside of Sky 1.
People complain about all the dumb shit with Ouroboros/Ironbloods/Jaegers, etc. but Sky 2 and the Crossbell games are littered with the same shit.
Mind you, Sky 1 isn't free of this either, the game simply isn't scaled up high enough for the shit to be so obvious

I love their old stuff, but my good will towards them has faded significantly in recent years.

I will unashamedly admit that I love Trails even with every arc and the writing quality in general getting worse. I love Falcom.

Pretty good up until Ys 8. Falcom has been questionable after that, as the revolving door of employees and the release schedule really wears down the quality of the average game.
