I think it fixed the main issues the original had. No random encounters, combat is serviceable and there is fast travel button so you don't spend time retreading. Although I think they could've made the combat better if they chose to be less true to the original, the dodging and such just feels a bit half assed after playing Expedition 33. And lot of the investigation skills feel underutilized, sneak and allure get their first use like 7 hours in.

Preta had the same model in its appearance in raidou 2 so it's likely to keep consistent with that version alongside other examples like the version of angel used. As for lamia however even in smtvv only a year ago it was uncensored, in fact lamia has never been censored before P5X was released I'm pretty sure (not counting more modern versions of the model possibly having slightly thicker hair) so it's likely they ported the p5x model for this remaster for some version. I also think okiku nushi's skin-bra thing was also made thicker in this remaster compared to the OG

The model is the same as the smtv one (aside from the censoring). But the models also rely on proper shading to look good. Like if you just pull out the models and load them in blender they'll look plasticky and off, which is kind of how they look here. The ones that give free items are just ezmode slop, the demon trials one is okay. It's just some optional fights where you fight 100 demons at varying level thresholds so you can take on harder fights at higher levels. Rewards are some books for skills that I think are unique.

They do use Battle -Raidou- 2008 - from the sequel but the Naomi remix and Devil Summoner 1 boss remix were originally from a pre-order only album for the first Raidou game anyway.

It's not like they ported over all the demons (Raidou 2 still has a bigger roster) or mechanics (Fiends are still sequel exclusive) either, they basically have half of King Abaddon done already.

If you think that the DLC specific quest for the demon Mephistopheles is not a direct reference to Faust, and more specifically, Goethe's Faust, I have some bad news for you. While nu-Atlus devs are not as /lit/fag as the old guard, this is a really surface level reference that anyone with any familiarity with the story will pick up on.

It's still not that hard since you can just jump right in to retry after dying. The most aggravating change for me is the nurse demon no longer being a jew, which back then was a nice balance of convenience versus having to double back to Victor to heal. Now you just get free heals from her... but Victor still charges you for whatever reason. It's not very well thought out.

I think grinding macca is the most cancerous part of hard mode game design in this series. I almost dropped V because of it, so I guess the free heals is a "love it or hate it." I stopped playing after losing to Ichi again for the 4th time. I have an autistic question I hope someone can shed some light on.

I notice the yellow stat bars demons gain from leveling up and mitama fusions don't seem to overwrite the purple bars that come from Raidou's MAG stat? Basically, if I have a demon with 10 base strength, a maximum strength of 14, and it already gets 2 from Raidou's MAG stat, it seems a mitama fusion will only give it 2 yellow bars instead of 3.

This seems kind of dumb, because if I do NG+ Raidou will reset his stats and the registered demon will end up having 12 strength when it should have 13. Does it really work this way? It's kind of dumb, if anything permanent yellow bars should overwrite purple ones.
