Untrue. They're just his personal bias, what he thinks of himself affecting his memory. Alt never suggested Arasaka did anything to him, but rather that you're seeing his memories through his subjective mind. He sees himself as a badass, so his memories reflect that.

Because the entire main story has to deal with him coming to terms that despite blowing a nuke in the middle of night city, nothing changed, history just says he was a terrorist and nothing else (he had an entire manifesto that was forgotten to time, and no one knows it), no one remembers him except from like one really old guy who's seen as a weirdo, and most fans of Samurai are fans of Eurodyne and not Silverhand. He expected to have a monument built around him for what he did, only to find his body was dumped in an oil field without even a small headstone to mark his passing.

You spend so much time with him that the tryhard personality eventually starts to show cracks, and the person underneath is a bit more likable.

Sure the Arasaka nuke didn't accomplish what he wanted but in the end he isn't "forgotten and irrelevant" if he was then in the ending where he takes V's body and buys the guitar for that one kid then the kid wouldn't know who he was.

i think anon was referring to the fact that Arasaka propaganda made him simply look like a famous rockstar. The important part about his carrer(the nuke, his rebellion etc.) is nearly erased. People barely mention him in game outside V speeches about the chip and when they do it's because of his music.

There's also Alt's AI telling you that Johnny's memories are just that, his memories, how he remembers things going down, and not always what exactly happened, seeing as Johnny is a massive narcissist. The actual advemnture module that those memeroies are based on has Morgan Blackhand doing most of the heavy lifting for that mission, with Johnny getting unceremoniously killed by Smasher, who didn't even know who he was until after the fact.

Because until Alt was taken and he was given a concrete goal of "save her" he was just lashing out at corpo hegemony.
Granted he had more reasons to be an angry dude than most since he was an abandoned war vet that got smeared after he and others deserted by what would become Militech/US gov and half cyberpsycho from his early generation arm but still the fact that he focused hard on Arasaka when he already had a personal beef with Militech is more evidence that he didn't care he just hated in general.

Can we appreciate that the devs allowed us to call Johnny an asshole every step of the way all the way up to the end? I love it and you can still say 3 lines in the oil field to get the don't fear the reaper ending.

Well, he lives in Night City, and Arasaka has a much bigger presence there than most of the other corps, and they're just as in bed with the japanese government as Militech is with the US government. He might have hated just Militech at first, but he eventually evolved into anti all corps being defacto governments.

I thought Johnny would be your mentor throughout the game, your more experienced guide narratively. That's true sometimes but for the most part you find out he's an idiot and knows less than V in a lot of areas. During some scenes or decrypting some mysteries in quests where you think he'd have some sort of wisdom to give you he usually shrugs his shoulders

Johnny's memories as we experience them are no power trip, but instead full of parts where we see how much of a fuck up he is and he's constantly getting told. Even of his fight with Adam Smasher the only thing we see is him getting wrecked.

Nothing we see is contradicted by the people who were actually present. There is nothing really suggesting his memories are unreliable.

Who do you meet that was present other than Rogue, who wasn't with Johnny for most of the mission so she can neither confirm nor deny Alt's statement, and Smasher, who doesn't really elaborate beyond "yeah I killed that guy"? The only other participants, Spider and Morgan, aren't anywhere to be seen. All we have to go off is Alt saying Johnny's narration is not 100 percent the truth, and the adventure module that backs up her statement.

He's a hypocrite who talks like a 15 year old who just discovered antifa and communism. He's still my choom, though.

Stat-wise it is worse than most of the other iconic handguns, and even normal T5 versions of them I'm pretty sure.

Johnny is a self centered ass but he's pretty good at calling out bullshit when he sees it even if his solutions fuck things up even worse, despite that he ends up looking out for you even if it's just to save his own skin. If anything, it's hard not to at least begrudgingly respect him for following through with his bat shit takes.

The Samurai album is actually decent.
