Yes. I have spent weeks shitting on this game while promoting Final Fantasy.
I'm also the only person who's trying to make it an East vs West cultute war in a attempt to get the weebs on my side against this game.

no I quit in the prologue. way too much dialogue and I didnโ€™t find the characters interesting so I didnโ€™t care. combat was okay but I think the entire aesthetic of the game is ugly and I donโ€™t find it interesting. Iโ€™m sure on the whole itโ€™s an ok game but I just genuinely donโ€™t like playing and even though itโ€™s free I wonโ€™t be playing it in the future either

Most people seething about this game have never even played it. Its obvious because they'll say random shit like its a moviegame slop. E33 is pretty much the ideal /v/ game: small studio, non-pozzed, underpriced, great story, gameplay, visuals, soundtrack, and characters.

i don't think i've seen a single thing about this game that didn't look or sound like shit. the visuals look like every other shitty modern game and the soundtrack is incredibly dull and boring. there are several tracks on that piece of shit that sound like fucking royalty free ad music. i don't see the appeal in the slightest.

>UE slop movement and world design that looks like a PS4 game even on the highest end hardware

it's a masterpiece for the same type of low iq mutt that watches a film like Captain America Civil War and goes "that was the most meaningful movie about war and political conflict I've ever seen, give it Best Picture right now". people who desperately screech "GAMES ARE ART GAMES ARE ART" not because they love or respect or enjoy games, but because they're insecure midwits who seek validation by way of cheap and easy consumption.

that's why no one brings up the garbage game design or the nightmarish story pacing, they just sit and spin on it because when they call it a masterpiece, they're really just praising themselves. that's why people who've never played turn based games are saying this is a innovation and every turn based game needs to add parries. because it's not about games, it's a purely narcissistic act.

NTA what's even the point of posting this when anyone can look at the steam forums and see that the crashing is in fact a massive problem that the devs just refuse to address? is it the JIDF taking time off from their wars to sabotage the French? why are you being such an autist about this?

I see the E33 shills have resorted to the classic "if you dropped it you can't say anything bad about it, but if you finished it and weren't impressed you're lying" fallback. why do troons get so worked up when you tell them you don't care for their FOTM? you know it's going to get GOTY from the troon fag journos at the end of the year anyway, why get bothered when you come across people that don't reinforce your low-grade opinion?

There are always unicorns, but it's more likely he's just defending the game. Honest discussion of it is hard to find because shit like
>UE slop movement and world design that looks like a PS4 game even on the highest end hardware
is just fishing for replies. The game did crash a lot for me, probably between 5-10 times. The autosaves are constant so I don't remember ever losing more than a few minutes of progress, but it was an annoyance. In terms of everything else, it's clearly a game that leans very heavily on the sound, writing, and visuals. The story, like the gameplay, is good enough to allow the excellent music, voice acting/directing and art direction to shine. I feel like it's an 8.5-to-9 in the sea of 7-and-unders that is modern vidya. Hard to say if that's just recency bias, I guess we'll have to see what people say in a few months.
>>713325717
That was your first response to me. The game is popular so it's odd to be surprised by multiple people disagreeing with your criticism. Personally I think the combat is the weakest part of the game, the QTEs for attacks quickly become trivial, and dodging/parrying is easy for most of the enemies in the game. Add in the fact that putting any effort into your luminas or fighting side bosses early erases any difficulty for the rest of the game, and the combat part of the game stops being very interesting pretty early on. I beat sprong before the axons so there wasn't any difficulty for the rest of the game, until Simon.
>>713325868
I've got plenty of negatives for the game, as seen in this post, but someone who spent 85 hours without dropping it, especially over several weeks, and then saying "every detail of this was shit and every moment was unbearable" just makes me think they're not being honest.

The in-game timer is lower by a lot because I left the game open a number of times. I never said every single moment of the game is trash, you people just love to conjure up imaginary phantoms and strawmen to blame when a game on which you've clearly hinged your self-worth worth doesn't get hailed to high heaven as a masterpiece. If you didn't have that personal investment in sandfall, thanks to them not hiring any nogs or blue haired hamplanets, you'd be able to see this.

I was highly invested in the game at the beginning, I liked the decision to kill Gustave, but felt it was insanely rushed to do it right after completing the team, rather than having them do a number of missions together (possibly to try and investigate renoir and the dessendres via the manor doors) that would build a sense of history and friendship between them before he got killed off, possibly in old lumiere, at which point verso could come in and take the team on their missions against the axons, and so on. As it is, as much as I found the premise to be neat initially, it's entirely botched by the presentation and pacing because the writers drag obvious reveals out way too much. Even the pacing of individual cutscenes, esp the paintress fight intro, betrays this sense of the writers being willing to neuter and compromise the characters, esp Lune, just to drag out their grand reveals.

But you've already decided to treat this game as a standin for yourself because you've likely got nothing going for yourself in real life, so kvetch away.

An alright 6/10. The writing is too childish to take seriously and the premise, balance and setting fall apart midway through Act IV. One good thing is they were at the very least very creative with the world design. I hate when games just bombard me with rolling green hill number 266437336. Verso was a shit character sadly.

I remember how Troy Baker used to get shit for being cast in everything and I do hate the guy for how insufferable he is but I saw a clip of one of his sequences in the first last of us and that guy actually had talent and range compared to Starr's dogshit forced low voice. That quote in the context of the video is that Verso wouldn't have had a conversation with Lune or Sciel about their nature of existence in camp. It's a pretty narrow scope.
The more interesting quote is the director admitting the game leans toward portraying Verso's ending as the good one, which I think is obvious to anyone with eyes even though I don't personally agree with it but whatever.

I sadly did and none of it meant anything to me after the game went full Eternal Sonata and only the Dessendres mattered in the end. Since breaking the game is piss easy I one-shotted almost everything. Only retries I had were Simon (the only boss I minmaxed for, my guys went from like using like 120 lumina since I was too lazy to assign them more to like 250. Complete overkill), the 3 elemental boss fight in Bea's mansion (that were immune to damage and it changed every turn, I literally just learned it and retried the fight) and Alicia (I didn't even use Stendhal against her lmao had I even bothered to update Maelle it would've been a 1 turn fight). The side content is a worthless slog.

>deleted reddit account with unsourced claims amounting to "I think he may have had enough money to start a dev studio on a loan"
Kepler gave them ~$10M aftere 3 years of production. Dev team jumped from ~10 to 32 + contractors. Office was dad's mansion. Talent was scalped from Ubi defectors, Grissini, and forum posts. Lead writer was hired from reddit as a VA, but turned out to be among the greatest writers of all time despite never having published or shared anything before.

It's the best game I have played in a very long time, single-handedly rekindled my passion for vidya. Also I hadn't played or had interest in a JRPG since Grandia and now I'm looking forward to play all the PS1 JRPGs and Final Fantasy shit I missed besides 7 which was a fucking bore.

When i started my second walkthrough i got bored. U have to face the truth. Ue5 games are always one-time. they don't really have a soul to make you want to come back. all I liked in the end were the characters, but the world they're in is generic, like in elden ring, wu kong, and others. to be honest, I would give the game a 0/10 without the Verso character.

I loved the game, It has pretty much everything I'm looking for in a story-driven experience. I agree it doesn't have much replayability but this is fine there are other games more suited for that. Now hoping for a DLC that adds some content at the west of the map.
