Even if they're too old or not gud enough, the possibility is there and that's enough to trick a NEET into sinking all their free time and energy into a pointless endeavor.
If prohibiting NEETs from multiplayer games is too harsh then remove the ability to use social features in the game.

There is nothing inherently wrong with trying to "make it big" in whatever, but people always make the big fucking mistake of making it the main thing instead of doing it on the side (and then if they get lucky they can do it full time). I've been on and off NEET for close around three years now, since I graduated from university. I haven't managed to land a single job, only been taking some courses here and there hoping they'd help me get something. I'm definitely addicted to video games, I'm the one unemployed loser who owns you in FPS and makes you rage. You need to do one of three things:
