Fun with friends game. Extreme autism sub building and lots of bullshit (fun and funny) deaths

The sole friendslop which can still be fun after 5 hours. Plenty of mods to enhance the game

If you don't have 4-8 friends who can regularly play each week you might as well refund it. Campaigns take tens of hours even without mods and the moment-to-moment gameplay is pretty mediocre without mods to make things difficult. If your only interest is leaving the sub to shoot weird fish then you're going to have an awful time as 2 people need to stay on the sub basically 24/7

Not him, but you generally want two people on a sub because of random attacks, the other person there to potentially save the other person from dying or the sub sinking from hull breach.

Beating the campaign solo can be done, but it involves a ton of AI tard wrangling. Definitely better to have atleast one or two friends with you. Saves you a lot of headaches. Only really needed my friend to help me out on the last mission.

when playing solo the crew ai is decent and can keep the sub safe if you head out
i had issues late game when i wanted to have a railgun to deal with big threats but ai kept spaming shells like mad and eventually would eat into the nukes which they would shoot at targets too close to the sub
it looks like they've improved ai and ai commands so you can actually forbid certain items but i havent gotten around to do another solo playthrough and i cant continue my old save

The crew ai is 100% nonfunctional with even the simplest of mods.

I never had much trouble leaving them to babysit the sub when I went out with my player crew.

I had a blast with the sub editor which feels like its own game where you can create more intricate and complicated systems as you become better at wiring components. Of course when you create a masterpiece sub you'll have hard-core plebs say its too easy and insist on Dugong but fuck them. My only gripe is you can make really complicated systems and come next update they practically dumb it down by added a component or pin that completely makes your wiring redundant. Like I made a system involving a shuttle battery to indicate if a pump was damaged and not working which i didnt see on other subs only for them to introduce a "condition out" pin that made it easy as fuck, although admittedly it was great because it gave a value of 100 so you could wire it up to an indicator light on the bridge and have it go from green - yellow - red and flashing red for dead to indicate its health. It's like if you can figure out the wiring you can pretty much do anything.

I would say though that you nearly need to role-play in order to enjoy the campaign on multiplayer because if you play it casually its either being attacked 100% of the time or people bored 100% of the time. It needs some kind of element to balance these times and its something that's missing. Their only solution so far is to make subs shitter which is more of a chore rather than satisfying gameplay which I view as the games biggest problem
