I know people on /v/ harp on when games do this, but RGG Studio's writing is generally at its best when it's touching on actual real-world issues in Japan. Bullying, coin locker babies, Japan's relationship with China and Korea, and how ready Japanese society is to sweep anything that challenges the social harmony under the rug.
8 is not that, 8 is trying to be 3 again in the worst way.
