I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. I've never and probably never will have another experience like playing this game. It's not just the scale. This game felt so alive. If you ran with an outfit and did things as part of a full platoon, it was a totally different game. We would do armor battalions with like 30 tanks, driving across the entire map for hours, coordinating with other outfits who were running air platoons or infantry. We would ambush with the tanks, or get ambushed. We would run into enemy outfits, who we literally had years long rivalries with, and fight a massive armor battle. We would load up troop transport aircraft and drop sometimes eighty or a hundred people into battle like paratroopers.
But it was the community that really made the game. People were so into it, you guys have no idea. There were rivalries yes, but there were also alliances, betrayals, sabotage. There was even a time when a friendly outfit hated another so much that they dropped a fucking nuke(technically it's a lazer, but same effect) a friendly outfit and got a shitload of teamkills.
The game was crazy. I can't even describe all the fun I had in it, in the 3000 hours I put in. I do regret spending a lot of the time I've spent on games, but not a single minute of planetside 2.
