There is a hard deadline on when the data has to be provided to master onto the discs, which is why the earlier designs survived there. Development and revisions continued afterwards, which is what then shipped in the day one patch.

I think the enemy placements and groups are a lot better in NG+ and Hard means you actually get to use all your skills on them, but ultimately all you really get is mostly bad costumes and stronger Exospine/Gear that lets you do somewhat silly stuff. Bosses you can always just fight in Boss Challenge if you want to do hard, so the only real reason to do it is to unlock the other final boss probably.

Raven is unironically harder than Scarlet. It's crazy how she constantly mixes up her attacks and teleports around you. With scarlet, most of her attacks just comes from 1 direction. She's just fast. Raven on the other hand checks if you mastered all the defensive mechanics the game has and if you can perform them on reflex.

The bosses in this game are so predictable and bot-like. Eve actually has so many options to deal with them, it's actually kinda broken how OP she is

I've been busy, but haven't gotten too far into the game. I'm doing wasteland stuff now, which is fun. I prefer the more focused level design of the first part, but it doesn't feel so generically open-world quite yet. Though I did scale a tower, so I'm suspicious.
Still, pretty fun. Good music. I'm doing the Scarlet quests as I hear that the Scarlet fight is really fun.
Mechanically, I think my biggest problem is still that I'm bad at block timing. It's interesting how the dodge stuff they give you a giant glowing sign that's very obvious, but for blocking it's a bit harder to read. At least so far.

Yeah I think it's basically their memories and experiences they had while alive, so retrieving somebody's memory stick is probably the equivalent to keeping their ashes in a jar on your shelf. It's just something to remember them by. Although mechanically in the game the memories are useful for giving you codes and lore. I think there are bits of the game where they talk about uploading their memories to mother sphere, probably their equivalent to "going to heaven" as it were.

Yeah, you're not alone on the block timing issue. The dodge window being telegraphed with a damn neon billboard while blocks are like "guess lmao" definitely makes it tougher to learn. It starts to make a bit more sense when you realize they expect you to memorize enemy strings, but that’s asking a lot when everything’s flashy as hell and you’re getting smacked around like a ragdoll. Scarlet fight is worth it though—easily one of the best boss designs in the game. Just wait till she starts chaining gravity slams mid-air, lmao. Good luck, anon.

I actually find perfect dodging harder to execute. With perfect dodging you have to time the dodge with the flash. Any delay and you get hit because dodging doesnt have iframes.
With perfect parrying, you can just mash LB or L1 and hope for the best. Even if you whiff the parry, your shields will still absorb the blow.

There is a point of no return near the end of the game. You can get stuff you missed in NG+ but some chests get “upgraded” if you found them already before the current level of NG+. If you didn’t open them before they still have the original contents and you need to do ANOTHER NG+ to get the next level
