"a long time before 2013" would have been ssn 1 or 2 which were essentially beta testing seasons.
League honestly sucked major ass before season 9 or 10. The best season was probably 2022 before they started going overboard with nword champs.

Yeah, and that's exactly why you could kind of do anything back then. Riot decided around the middle of that period what the stupid DUDE ESPORTS meta they wanted to eternally force was and it took a year or two for it to trickle down to all levels of the game.
