Depends on the game, I don't really mind Mario Kart essentially having none but I still have a lot of fun with it, others like Forza really do need it to sell its whole package. In fact, I feel like F1 games could use more realistic crash physics, the damage rarely represents how the car would look like after a crash.
That said, thank you clowncademy for making my race weekends a bit funnier.

An impact like that is probably over 40G, no amount of holding to whatever will work. The 4-point harness they had could have mitigated the situation for them, but why use it even if you have it.
